Are you unhappy with the older version of yourself you see when you look into the mirror? If you'd like to reverse the aging that has occurred, a facelift can be the best solution. Thousands of people who have started aging prematurely have undergone this procedure to regain their youth and confidence.
NJ Facelift surgery, or rhytidectomy, is designed to restore your face to a more youthful appearance by tightening and smoothing major wrinkles and sagging of the skin of the face, neck, and jaw line. To accomplish this task, any excess skin is removed and muscles of the face and neck are elevated and secured to maintain the improved contours of these features. The removal of this excess skin is performed in such as manner as to conceal the scars very well, such that most patients can wear their hair up and show little or no evidence that they had a facelift. You may be a good candidate for a facelift if you have loose skin, wrinkles, or excess fatty tissue in your neck or if you have a loss of definition and contours of your jaw line. Also, if you have deep lines, or nasolabial folds, that run from the corner of your nose to the corner of your mouth, or if you have a tired appearance due to lack of laxity of the skin near your cheekbones, these can easily be corrected at the time of facelift by injection of multiple filler options, including your own fat and strips of your own dermis (deep skin layers).
The Facelift process is simple and safety performed at our certified ambulatory surgery center in Fort Lee NJ by Dr. Rosenberg. Our board certified anesthesiologists will make certain you are comfortable and safe, and the NJ plastic surgery can be performed under intravenous sedation of general anesthesia, depending upon your preference.
As mentioned earlier, incisions are placed in inconspicuous locations precisely at or inside the hairline at the temple, in front of the ear, around the earlobe, and then behind the ear, ending at the scalp or hairline. The skin is then undermined and lifted to reveal the supporting tissues. These layers are elevated and tightened for long-term results. Then, slack, excess skin, and fatty deposits are removed from beneath the chin and neck through a small, separate incision. If you have sagging in the muscles of your neck below your chin, these muscles can be tightened at the same time This added procedure, called a platysmaplasty or neck lift, can restore a beautiful neckline and take years off your appearance. And incisions are then closed with very fine sutures. Depending on the amount of other procedures performed, the surgery takes approximate 3-4 hours.
Recovery takes only two weeks. So, if you're ready to look and feel young again, stop by our New Jersey Cosmetic Surgeon office for a consultation.
